Hello from us at Layer 8!

Ever wonder what's going on with Layer 8 every week?
Our club holds weekly meetings discussing the latest news in the world of information security.
The Layer 8 committee also prepares lectures & lab sessions for anyone who is interested in our line-ups!

The History of Layer 8

CSUN's computer security club, Layer 8, educates students about information security and allows students to practice their skills on the latest technological advancements in software and hardware. Members of Layer 8 engage in inciteful presentations and labs during weekly meetings and participate in exciting competitive events held throughout the year such as capture the flag (CTF) events, seasonal National Cyber League (NCL) events, and the yearly Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC).

How do we help members get started in the club?

To start with, we strongly encourage members to join The National Cyber League, as the program guides new members through basic concepts of security.

In addition, here at Layer 8 we have open discussions among members of all skill levels to help one another when they face challenges in understanding topics in the world of information security!
